BC, what is “Talkin Boxing” all about and why should we tune in?
Its the best boxing talk radio program the sport has to offer! We are the only professional, DAILY boxing talk radio show on the planet. We cover all of the latest boxing news and stories, we have the best guests and we have a collection of boxing's most knowledgeable contributors from around the globe. We also spend a lot of time with the history of the sport. We give away prizes EVERY day and the best part is we do all of this in a very entertaining way. That's why you should tune in!

The first time I heard your show, I knew right away that you have passion for the sport. BC, how did you get into boxing?
I have been in the business for over 26 years as a manager, promoter, writer, historian, boxing gym owner, advisor and radio host. I boxed as a kid, but never was good enough to compete. I think two things got me into the sport when I was a kid. The first was an essay written by Jack London called "A Piece Of Steak" and the other was watching the Ali-Young fight in 1976. Young battered Ali for 15 Rounds and they gave the decision to Ali.

How and when did “Talkin Boxing with Billy C” get started?
Almost five years ago! We had just opened up a gym in Poughkeepsie, NY and I thought it was a cool way to promote the gym. We broadcast live from the gym once a week for an hour. Within two weeks, we got a weekly spot offered on a Sports Network and then the show grew from there. We went from a one-hour, to two hour weekly, to finally a two-hour daily show.

You have fighters, trainers, reporters and promoters come on regularly. I have to ask, what was the worst interview you ever had?
You know, really, I never really had one! The worst was a young fighter that was hard to talk to because he was very shy. It became a very short interview. When I spoke to his Dad after, I told him he was shy and he told me to ask him about killing his first deer. Well, we had him back on and I loosened him up and he was GREAT. But aside from that, we really have never had a bad one.

There's a flip side to everything. BC, what is the fondest memory you have while doing the show?
We have had a lot of good times, but I think the interview with Don King is still the best. He was a great interview and backed up what he said when I attended one of his fights....he took very good care of me. I will say, that recently, Scott Crouse, who I am very close with, has been absent from the show for a bit battling some personal issues. He can back on this past week and I was so glad to have him on! He means a lot to the show and I will admit, I was a little choked up. The other thing I can never forget is Kieron. This guy does A LOT of stuff behind the scenes. The best part is how he became a listener, then an important part of the show. He stumbled across the show years ago when he was going through a rough time. He told me how the show helped him straighten himself out and become closer with his Grandfather....I think that has to be the most rewarding thing the show has ever brought to me.

You've been talking about something called “The Wednesday Night Fight Series”. Tell us what that is.
It will be great! We will be doing a Weekly Boxing Series on the BillyCBoxing.com Network beginning July 28. Every Wednesday, boxing fans will be able to tune in for a webcast of boxing cards from around the globe. We are trying to focus on the club show circuit, which I think is the backbone of the sport. These will be for FREE and I think it will become huge....very quickly.

Hey BC, thank you for your time. Is there anything else you want us to know about “Talkin Boxing with Billy C”?
That you are NUTS not to become a premium subscriber for $15 per year! For 10 hours a week, for a year for that kind of money, even the "sometimes" boxing fan should join! Aside from that, I hope people will tune into the show and enjoy. I want to thank you for taking the time to do this interview! I appreciate your interest and people like you are the reason we do the show in the first place. I want to thank you and Boxing4Free.com!
